Grace oil on panel 45x44
This piece was recently donated to the Monte Sano Methodist Church on Monte Sano Mountain.
This was a piece of 'found' panel, that is actually quite old..at the time I had discovered the panel, I had actually caught saying, 'God, I wish there was something I could paint on',,,funny thing too,,this was the very subject (an actual real old oak tree) that I had seen as a young lady,,perhaps 25 years ago. 'She' has inspired me 'ever' since!!
I had thought to myself at that time in my life, 'God, how amazing, this old,old oak has quite a story ~ history, quite a LIFE. . With such uncomprimising, unique and mysterious character I became so intrigued and 'drawn' that I had promised myself at that very moment,, I will learn to draw this amazingly beautiful 'story'. I am going to learn to draw,, to paint!! that old,old amazing oak tree!
I have been drawing and painting 'her' all the time,,in fact, it is something I can do ,,and now am convinced,,'blind folded'...My late mother,,my biggest 'fan' and cheerleader always, always inspired me to do so!! There are amazing 'truths' to this story,,, once almost published in the Huntsville Times,,but never came to pass. I knew then that as disappointed as it were,, everything shall have it's purpose ~ this story too,, shall be told...
